What is International Baccalaureate (IB)
The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a globally recognized educational program designed to develop curious, knowledgeable, and compassionate students who are prepared to excel in a rapidly changing world. Rooted in the principles of inquiry-based learning and global citizenship, the IB encourages critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and a lifelong passion for learning.
The International Baccalaureate was established in 1968 in Geneva, Switzerland, with a vision of providing high-quality education to a diverse international community. Today, the program operates in over 150 countries, offering a structured yet flexible framework for students aged 3 to 19.
The IB is divided into four distinct programs:
Primary Years Program (PYP): Designed for students aged 3 to 12, it focuses on nurturing creativity, inquiry, and global awareness.
Middle Years Program (MYP): Catering to students aged 11 to 16, the MYP bridges academic disciplines and emphasizes real-world application.
Diploma Program (DP): A rigorous pre-university course for students aged 16 to 19, promoting research, critical analysis, and independent thinking.
Career-related Program (CP): Tailored for 16 to 19-year-olds, integrating academic study with practical career-related learning.
MYP – DP
The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers two transformative programs, the Middle Years Program (MYP) and the Diploma Program (DP), designed to nurture globally minded students with the skills and values needed to thrive in an interconnected world. These programs are renowned for their emphasis on inquiry, critical thinking, and holistic development.
Middle Years Programme
Building a solid academic foundation. The aims is to develop students’ confidence in managing their own learning as well as making strong connections between their classroom learning and the real world.
Diploma Programme
A program that shapes students to be future-ready: building students’ curiosity, stimulating their desire to always learn, and of course, to excel in their careers and live meaningful lives.

SUBJECTS
The International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum is renowned for its comprehensive approach to education, offering a balanced framework across six subject groups. These subject areas are designed to foster intellectual curiosity, intercultural understanding, and lifelong learning while equipping students with the skills to succeed in higher education and beyond.
Mathematics (AA & AI)
International Baccalaureate Mathematics is an integral part of the IB curriculum, designed to cultivate analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, & a deep understanding of mathematical principles. It prepares students for diverse academic – career paths by emphasizing real-world application and logical reasoning.
Biology
International Baccalaureate Biology is a cornerstone of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, offering an in-depth exploration of living systems. Designed for students passionate about the natural world, IB Biology develops critical thinking, analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of biological principles.
Physics
IB Physics is a challenging yet rewarding course in the IB Diploma Program, designed to cultivate a deep understanding of physical principles and their applications. This course combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experimentation, preparing students for future careers in engineering, research, and technology.
Chemistry
This course is an intellectually stimulating program that challenges students to explore the principles of chemistry in theoretical and practical. Offering insights into topics such as stoichiometry, organic chemistry, and thermodynamics. It prepares students for university-level science and careers in STEM fields.
English (A&B)
It encourages students to explore literature and language deeply, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills. Whether you’re studying Language and Literature or Literature, IB English equips you with the tools to interpret texts, analyze cultural contexts, and articulate your ideas effectively.
Visual Art for HL & SL
It is a dynamic and rewarding course that empowers students to explore their creativity and hone their technical skills while engaging with global and cultural contexts. As part of the IB Diploma Programme, this subject combines rigorous academic inquiry with hands-on artistic expression.
Internal Asessment (IA)
The International Baccalaureate Internal Assessment is a task or project that students must complete for several subjects, including sciences, humanities, and languages. Unlike traditional exams, the IA is conducted during the course and involves independent research, writing, and analysis.
Extended Essay (EE)
It is an essential component of the IB Diploma Program that provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their research, writing, and critical thinking skills. While challenging, with the right planning, time management, and dedication, the Extended Essay (EE) prepares students for higher education.
